VOTE BLAKE!

Photobucket
Originally my post was going to be about my sunday afternoon styling session with my cousin Jovy, but I got so distracted when my friend Blake, linked me to his video for the 'Aria A-List Party Patroller'. Blake is definitely the one for the job! He cracks me up everytime I see him - especially when we're out partying! He is one of the most stylish boys I've ever seen, with passion and creativity dripping off his finger tips! So check out his video and don't forget to vote for him here or here: http://arias.seek.com.au/finalist/Blade

I love my new Mossman salmon coloured shorts!
Photobucket
Photobucket
Grace's DIY cropped lace top, Mossman shorts, Glassons Jelly sandals and necklace and Grace's LV bag.

I wore this yesterday on another of our formal-dress-hunting-adventures for Angelica. This time we hit up Paddington which was a lot of fun. First stop: Wayne Cooper. Surprisingly we found more dresses we liked here than we did along the whole of Oxford St, and I must mention the two ladies there were such a pleasure to meet! I won't mention every store we went into, but I must say Willow, Nicola Finetti and Manning Cartell were my favs yesterday. Everything was beautifully presented, stunning attention to detail in every piece and impecable workmanship. If I could shop for my yr 12 formal dress again these designers would definitely be on my list of possibilities. However, we are shopping for Angel's yr 10 formal so Wayne cooper and Alice McCall have been the only two designers who we've found so far to be age appropriate.  Here's a stunning dress by Wayne Cooper, Angel looked so elegant, so ...Blair Waldorf. But is this too old/elegant looking for a year 10 formal? let me know what you think! I'd love to hear it.

Mango tree

Photobucket
Glassons khaki button up shirt and satchel, angelica's DIY shredded tee, MinkPink shorts, Grace's vintage necklace and Sam Edelman boots.
I don't know why but I have the song Mango Tree by Angus and Julia Stone stuck in my head. Maybe its because this song relaxes me, maybe its because I can actually relax now, maybe thats because I am actually relaxed, and maybe (this is the last maybe I promise) that is because I have officially finished uni, well for now anyway. I am deferring uni most probably until 2012.
So lets sing it everyone: 'I wish I had a mango tree, in my backyard....' oh just check them out yourself and fall in love.

Willow inspired!

 Photobucket
Willow smith - what a little bundle of amazing. I'm sitting here looking at her pictures and questioning 'Are we sure she is not Rihanna's child?'
Photobucket

She is such a funky child, rockin' that rihanna-esque style with the patterned harem pants, lace up military boots - complete with the half-shaved-mohawk-hiphop-rocker chic hair style. She is only ten, but watch out Rihanna people will no longer ask 'Can I have the Rihanna hair cut' but rather ' Willow Smith hair please!' I know I certainly will, that is, when I gain enough courage to shave half my hair - something I've actually contemplated for a while now. But probably too scared to actually do. Anyways I will leave you admiring Willow, as I continue to google search/Wikipedia her. Gotta love her!

Willow Smith, your only 10 and your amazing! I don't know who is styling you - Did you hire rihanna? Whatever/who ever it is, never let them go, they do wonders and you are just rockin it!

LADY PETROVA SS10/11

Another amazing collection by ms Petrova Hammond.
Project Runway 2008 was when I fell in love with Petrova Hammond, the Australian designer of the beautiful brand Lady Petrova. Her designs are colourful, clever and feminine. I was so inlove with her designs as well as the broadway musical WICKED that I convinced my family to fly to Melbourne in 2009 specifically to watch it & to check out Petrova's boutique LADY. I remember we were trying so hard to track down Flinders lane and it was only by accident when Angelica and I ventured out of the hotel one morning and down to the chemist, that we found the wonderland they call LADY. It was early morning and we were in our PJ's, so later in the day we dragged mum down to the store not expecting her to buy my dream dress. But she loved it so much she did!
This is the story of:
A. my growing love for Lady Petrova

Don't call me Gaga.

Just the casual look in the mirror. haha

I wore: Glassons 'gaga' blazer, Zimmermann shirt/dress, Bardot chain necklace, Jeffrey Campbell Clinics, vintage glo-mesh bag, marc jacobs ring, agent 99 rings, Roxy watch, forever 21 and Rubi bracelets.
This is the other Zimmermann dress I was talking about in my last outfit post. This blush colour is possibly my favourite thing this spring! I think it's just hard to find without the garment being overly girly or feminine. The thing with these Zimmermann pieces is that they have that cool chic look about it. Put it on and you already feel like a million dollars... well maybe not a million but at least a few hundred. I wore this to my ex-boss/manager who hired me to work at Glassons. I must say Dee, you are the trendiest 30-yr-old I know. Happy birthday! You wouldn't believe that she's thirty right? Repeat: "Thirty, flirty and thriving." "Thirty, Flirty and thriving"
Lots of love,
little B

Textbooks and pretty images

Photobucket
This is what I'm currently reading. I was so excited to buy the Harper's BAZAAR mag today with Kelsey as the cover girl of course! The November issue is for you if you like the following: Alexander Wang, Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs and Australia's Next Top Model. I was pretty sneaky today, ha - when I saw that the mag was out with the 'double' covers - one of Kelsey (original winner for like 30 seconds) and the other of Amanda (the actual winner of ANTM) - The Amanda covers were in front, and because Kelsey is my absolute fav, I walked up to the newspaper stand and put all of Kelsey's at the front :) haha oh I'm such a badass.  haha. Anyways tonight is my only night without assignments so I'm going to try figure out what I'm going to wear to Oktoberfest tomorrow, paint my nails, watch Glee and read some of those books.
Lots of Love, B

2:40AM Sat in the car and ate Maccas (aka McDonalds)
3:00AM Finally home.
3:05AM Sleep-time ZzzzZzzz
10 AM I woke up to witness this beautiful sunshine and would not let it go to waste!

I got dressed and walked up to the park to take some pics for my outfit for the day. Luckily, we went when we did, because the weather (although beautiful) was being so bi-polar - sunny, cloudy, gloomy, drizzle-izzle, sunny. ehhhh so annoying! Anyways enough about the weather. Check out the Zimmermann leotard I'm wearing, how amazing is it? It's not mine though, I've got to credit my cousin Jovz for it. I am so lucky to have a cousin who has a wonderful wardrobe, beautiful style and who lives literally a few streets away from me. I was so stuck on what to wear on saturday night that she lent me two out of her 198734739472 Zimmermann pieces, - She lent me this leotard and this dress/shirt/tunic thing with cut-outs which I ending up wearing on saturday night and I'll post later. The leotard keeps with the classic Zimmermann vibe, mirror patterned fabric created not by print but with holes in the garment and this beautiful blush pastel colour to keep it feminine - which I absolutely adore. I like that when I paired it with the Glassons sheer throw over and hi-waisted shorts it really gave it a softer edge to the look. Thanks to Jovy, I've fallen head-over-heels for the originality in Zimmermann's designs and soft silk fabric. Marry me?

Winter Kate

I wore: Winter Kate Jasmine Cardi, MinkPink shorts, Payless sandals, Kmart Tee, Grace's Vintage necklace and Glassons Satchel.
About two weeks ago on a sunny monday afternoon, I got a phone call from my lil sis saying my Winter Kate Cardi had arrived, but I wasn't so enthused! This was actually the same day that I had technically lost my wallet at Uni. (Standing up and walking away from your own wallet counts as loosing it right?) Well, I was so upset about my wallet because I had no money, no key card, no ID, and no train or bus ticket, therefore no way of getting home! I was literally stranded at uni, it was so sad, but eventually I found a friend and he saved my life. Anyways, when I finally got home I was super super excited. I carefully opened the box and ta-da, I held my very own Winter Kate Cardi. It is so beautiful and I must admit I've worn it consequtively ever since I got it.. I hope people haven't noticed. ha, well that's all from me.
Peace & love
- little B.

p.s I love that I feel like a hippie in the cardi. Peeeaaace man.

Mirror Mirror

Photography by me.
Last week I took my little sis - Angel Cakes, back to burwood to re-try the two dresses she was considering for her yr 10 formal. Trying on the dresses a second time, definitely was not as amazing as the first time she tried them. The Alice McCall dress sizing was weird (or Angel gained or lossed some kg) because when she put on the size 10 it was too baggy, then the size 8 didn't even vip up and I'm pretty sure she originally tried on the size 10. It was so strange! Still although the dress is beautiful, it would've been absolutely perfect if it wasn't such a casual material, silk or a satin of some kind would have been amazing with all the detailing it has. Then, she re-tried the Manning Cartell Asymmetrical dress which confirmed what we thought in the first place - that it was too big. =( She's still on the search for her perfect formal dress, and I know I keep blogging about it but I love this sort of stuff! Shopping for people and finding that show-stopping, jaw-dropping garment that makes a girl go: "AH-WOW-ZA. I want that!" haha well maybe not ah-wow-za, but you catch my drift right? Well if you have an suggestions for places to shop or dresses you've seen, leave us a comment. We'd really appreciate your help!
p.s I'll post pictures of what I wore later which Includes one item I got from my Spring Wishlist here

The latin festival was a true celebration of latin culture - spicey spanish paella, tasty tasty caramel churros (yummmm), too hot-to-handle Salsa classes, ZUMBA, elaborate costumes full of frills and colour as well as extremely catching beats from the Latin percussion band which was so infectious it made the crowd get up and shake their hips and shuffle their feet like no one was watching. It was great! After the festival at Darling Harbour we ventured over to the Harbourside shopping center to do a bit of a shop. The pictures below are from the store Jade&Belle which stocks WILDFOX, Samantha Wills, Blessed are the Meek and Toi et Moi. We went in to see if there were any dresses worthy of wearing to Angel's yr 10 formal. But we had no luck.

This was the extremely amazing change room at Jade and Belle in the Harbourside mall. There is only only other change room that I've seen better than this, and it's in The Corner Shop, in The Strand. I love when stores especially boutiques, take the time to pay attention to details and decorate their store in a way that truly transforms the shoppers experience. Check out The Corner Shop, in The Strand - then you will know what I mean!
